There are so very few places where two people can talk on issues of a spiritual nature. There is so much love, light and truth to share when people aren’t maneuvering to “best” each other. So much of what we do in the present climate of society is one-upmanship. There is so much to learn from each other if we merely listen.
In this podcast, Josh shares his experiences leading to a spiritual understanding in this life. At one point he describes being the Athlete who scores the winning point to end the game. Being carried off the court was a confusing experience. This was a fresh perspective for me. As an onlooker, I just assumed that being the winning athlete would be the pinnacle of experiences. To see the illusion of this made me realize how important our own spiritual connection is. Without connecting to Source from within, perhaps no experience can be altogether rewarding.
We discussed his lack of direction in his spiritual life. Him being a father perhaps gives him the opportunity to pour love into the self through pouring it into his daughter. He is maybe able to rub out the painful experiences that etched deeply in him as a child by helping his daughter not have to feel as disconnected as he may have felt. I gave him a couple techniques to help his daughter tap into self-love.
It was refreshing to talk to someone who was eager to know ways to look at life from a different perspective and had some perspectives to share. We had a heart felt talk on addictions and the benefits and limitations of being a member of alcoholics anonymous. He explained how bootcamp in the military broke him down so they could rebuild him. In real time, it came to me that his years spent with an addiction were a form of life’s bootcamp to break him down from being too much in the head and to get centered in the heart.
