Jen in her Jammies: Transcending the Ego

Many spiritual teachers have had a lot to say on the topic of the ego.  But among seekers, a good deal of misunderstanding remains about the ego.

In this conversation, we address the topic of the ego in a simple and accessible manner.  We look at its nature; the fact it is not ‘us’; why we should not identify with it; and ultimately, how we can align the ego so it serves our highest and best interest – rather than controlling us.   We also discuss some techniques that can be employed to assist us in this process.

When I engage strongly with clients in private sessions, I am engaging with their ego and not with the client.  Doing battle with the ego of a client in this way helps them separate from it.  Eventually, many come to the point where they can see that their ego is a tool to assist them.  However, if they insist on identifying with their ego and playing the victim, it just entrenches the ego even further in a position of control.

To get to the point where our ego serves us rather than controls us, it is necessary to communicate with our higher self in a way that bypasses our ego, so it cannot interfere.  SFT Taps provide a means to do this – so long as they are used properly.

I explain how taps work and how using them in private sessions to address a client’s deepest issues, can enable all the consequences arising from each issue to be resolved at the same time.  It is like dominoes falling across multiple lifetimes.

The goal is not to subjugate the ego, or to eliminate the ego.  To be egoless would be akin to being spineless.  Instead, we should seek to align the ego so it serves us, by enriching our lives with positive qualities like a motivation to serve humanity.
